WHITFORD CLUBS (Updated 10-21-09) Whitford offers a variety of clubs during the week. Watch the website and have your student listen to the daily announcements for upcoming clubs.   Clubs with insufficient enrollment may be canceled. The first session of the THPRD After-School clubs will begin Tuesday, Sept. 15th.  Flyers will be coming home in students' first day packet.  Cross Country will be offered Tuesdays and Thursdays through November 5th.  Cost is $68. Registration for THPRD After-School Activities through Cedar Hills Recreation Center is easy! You can pick up registration forms in the school office. Return completed registration forms along with payment to the school office or to Cedar Hills Rec. Center.  Phone-in Registration is also available! Join MathCounts Club today!   A variety of activities are planned for students to explore mathematics through problem solving, math games, speed rounds, and practice with graphing calculators to name a few.  MathCounts meets on Tuesdays from 2:10 - 5:00  in Room A-10.  There is no cost.  So come and develop those brain muscles and become an accomplished mathlete.  For even more fun, encourage a friend to join with you.  For further information contact Ms. Rees in A-10. Do you like to play chess?  Have you always wanted to learn?   Come and play the king of games.  No prior knowledge or playing experience is required to join.  If you are a beginner, you will be taught the basics of the game.  If you have played before, you will learn tactics and strategy.  Lessons are taught by a chess master and many opportunities are given to play and compete throughout the school year.  The club meets on Wednesdays from 3:40 - 5:00 in room A-10.  There is a supply fee of $45, which pays for the chess coach, T-shirt, and score books.  Meetings start this Wednesday, October 7th.  Enrollment forms are in the office.  For further information contact Ms. Rees in A-10.
