Each year, Sunset
High School invites local veterans to take
part in the "Honor by Listening" project. They
spend a day at the school talking with groups
of students and telling them about their time
in the service. The goal of the popular event,
which began in 2000, is to increase inter-generational
communication and explore the benefits and challenges
of oral histories.
In 2006, nine of these talks were recorded
and are being published as podcasts.
